Scenars

Does anybody shoot these? I mean geez they are like twice as much of the rest. Just curious if they are that much better.

I did find some a little cheaper but they are still almost twice as much as the Hornady matches that I shoot.

They work good for me.

Do a search for "Scenars" on the daily bulletin page, you will find info about them and their performance.

Hoier,
They are very consistent bullets, so consistent in fact when I was shooting them in my 6.5*284 I quit measuring or weighing them, I just shot them and they did well, as far as price I just paid $60.25 per hundred for my 103 vld Spencer bullets, the Lapua bullets will do you a great job!
Wayne.

Wayne, HOLEY MOLEY! Yeah the Scenars aren't bad when you compare them to that. I might grab a 100 and give them a try.

Wayne,
Where did you find the Spencer 103's? I would like to get in on that purchase. Would like to try a hundred or so.
Barry

I havent shot any of the lapua 6mm bullets but ive shot thousands of the 155 lapuas out of a 308. Theyre a great little bullet in my opinion. They also liked to jump so you can mag load no problem. I have heard that the 6mm bullets are slightly undersized compaired to most and utilizing a .236 land dia is better. But ive never sent one down my 6 so i cant say how much of that is bs.

I have talked to Clay on several occassions but unfortunately he is stilll looking for jackets (last time we talked). I hate to keep callling the guy since I'm sure he is a busy man. I'll wait a month or so and give him a call again.
I was hoping that you might have know someone who had a few thousand and would part with a few.

I would have to beat those 115's with a hammer to get them in my chamber with a 104 FB. :)
Barry,
I will p.m you this evening about the Spencers.

Anybody have a good load for the 105 Scenar L for the Dasher?
Anybody making 8208 powder for work for the Dasher.

Greg,
The Scenars shot pretty well in my Dasher with H-4895 and with Varget, will you make the March shoot at deep creek? I think I remember you at the championship shoot last year, weren't you shooting a Savage 6br?
Wayne.

I use the Scenars for my .300 win mag, I get constantly sub 2" groups at 400m with the scenar 185gr but nothing even close to that with other bullets.. I got Remington 700 Sendero straight out of the box..

for 6BR I only use Berger 68gr and Sierra MatchKing 70gr.. the Berger does .2" but the SMK is usually .3"-.4" groups

the Berger is really hard to get here on the North Pole.. so I use the SMK when I'm out of Bergers.

The Lapua 105's did not shoot well in my DASHER with the .237 barrel. I am going to try them again in a .236 barrel and see how they shoot.

Not what I wanted to here. :(

I just bought a box of the Lapua 105's to try on my 6br with a .237 barrel. My barrel loves the 107SMK's out to about 600yds, but at 1k, I couldn't make them work. I spent all last season spraying patterns at 1k matches (only sorting was base-to-ogive measurement) :( The only relay I won last year was a windy SOB, where I held off the right side of the paper for a few shots :) I call that one luck!

I want to try some different things this year, so I bought some 105VLD Hunting and Match, 105 Hybrid, and the Lapua 105's... going to test all these bullets with varget, 4895, rl15, and 8208 (probably stick with a cci450 primer).

I think I might be spending this years' season doing what I did last year... doing more testing than winning :( I also upgraded my front rest, purchased some proper wind flags (for 300yd testing), and started annealing after each firing, so I'm basically starting from scratch... I'm learning this game the hard way!

Just like most of us Walt, one thing at a time :) The 450's will work good for you but with the H-4895 I believe the 400's are hands down better,..don't ask me why they just are! Team Lapua does pretty good, guess what bullet there using??... just because Barry didn't have any luck it isn't wrote in stone that they won't work for you, they just didn't work for him, take care my friend and best of luck.
Wayne.

P.S Be positive when trying those Scenars or they won't work from the getgo and you might as well sell them right now!

If you can use them in conjunction with Lapua Brass (obviously not possible depending on caliber), you have a winning combination.
