Scale woes !

I would run, not walk to ebay and look up the Ohaus TS120 that is for sale for a very fair price.

It is guaranteed. It is a 120 gm with 0.001 gm accuracy. It is being sold with manual. These are VERY good balances.

I started a thread on the Ohaus TS series a while back, but it didn't get much interest. My wife gave me a GemPro 250 for my birthday and I was happy, even if I had to re-tare it often and calibrate it often and it didn't respond to trickling very well. Well, I found an Ohaus TS200 on ebay for a good price, received it, plugged it in and waited an hour. The damn thing still read 0.00 gn! I put 33.5 gn weights on it and it said ,,,, 33.5 gn!. Yes, you can set it for whatever units you want. My TS200 is accurate to 0.02 gn where the TS120 is good to 0.01 gn. Of course, the accuracy is up to the quality of calibration weights you get. M2 are good to +/- 0.003 gm I think.

These balances are stable as a rock! I use my battery powered trickler and the display tracks with a fraction of a second delay. I weigh to the grain of powder and Varget is close to 0.02 gn. I can extrapolate to 0.01gn if I choose to wait long enough.

Buy IT!! You won't be sorry!

I have a Gempro 250 and been using it for over 2 years and has been working great. One downside is the amount of time it takes to register when trickling up...wish it was faster. I use an RCBS powder pan instead of the miniature plastic pan.

Are you able to close the lid with the RCBS powder pan on the scale? I have tried the Redding and Hornady powder pans and I was unable to close the GemPro 250 lid. I have found that with the sensitivity of the GemPro 250 that the closing of the lid is important.

No...does not shut. I use mine with the lid open. The way my bench is set up, my scale is somewhat sheltered...I have it pushed back close to a wall and kitchen cabinets above it. No problems.
