Savage trigger upgrade

Just bought one of the cheap Axis rifles at Cabelas for a truck gun. Was going to put a Rifle Basix trigger in it but on another thread someone was doing a Mcarbo spring upgrade. I am not familiar with that option. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? Gun will be for hunting/utility.

On the other post, the poster said they offer two spring weight's, this 3lb plus and a 2lb plus, is that correct ?

I just ordered the kit. It says it comes with with 2 springs. Sounds like the 2.5 lb spring is for “benchrest” and had drop tests from a few inches. The 3.5 is recommended for hunting. The video only had one spring. I’ll follow up when I get the package.

I went with the Rifle Basix SAV-1 trigger.
Pull weight 14oz to 3 lbs.
Plus i'm hoping the trigger itself will get rid of the gritty feeling from the stock trigger.

Installed the M-Carbo kit a few days ago on a friends Axis. Before the kit 5 trigger snaps averaged 5lbs, 4.2oz.
I used the 2.5lb spring to do the install also installed the shims. After the install 5 trigger snaps averaged 1lb 6.4oz. I took my time, the install took between 30 and 45 minutes.

Just installed my spring kit. Came with 2 springs-a 2.5lb and 3.5lb one and shims. I went with the 2.5. According to my wheeler spring style trigger pull gauge it is 1.5 lbs. It was 7lbs before the installation. The shims tightened up the side to side slop also. Very pleased for $20.
