SAVAGE TRIGGER QUESTION

With all the complaints about aftermarket Savage triggers WHY don't Savage guys just get a Red Blade Accutrigger and be done with it?? I think I want one--Where can I get one as an assembly??? makes me wonder why some dealer is not advertising them and selling lots of them
My Accutrigger is reliable 1.5 lbs and not that bad but if I can get an upgrade by replacing with a Red Blade then I would in a skinny minute My pals Rem 700 with a Timney is amazing in comparrison

Thanks!!!!!!!

Pull the trigger and carefully polish the sear with a very fine stone 600-1000. Cut a coil off of the main and safety trigger springs. There may be a tutorial on Savage Shooters forum.

Your gunsmith may be able to get one from Savage but why bother. If it is a hunting gun or just a plinker 1.5 lbs. is plenty light enough. Remember a Savage will never really be a bench gun, Believe, me I have tried on a few occasions and with what I have spent I could have 2 more customs.
I won our 100 yd 22 league championship with my Savage MK II bvss. There were Vudoo's and a couple Anschultz's as well as CZ's. My Savage held its own for the win. There was 12 matches and I won 8 of them

Rebs, my Mark ll would probably do the same, shoots like a laser right out the box. CCI SV out shoots all the other 22's on the range, usually.
The model12's not so much, mine are totally redone timed and trued, castrated(nutless),McMillan stocks, Harrells bases and rings Leupold comp. scopes using either a JJ Loh or Seb Neo, they still don't compete against the Bats, Kelby's, Halls they just aren't as smooth even with SSS competition triggers (3 oz.). All told over 3k invested in each one, and my 2k Kodiak with a 6x scope out shoots them both.
So YES I have some experience trying to put lip stick on a pig. They shoot good just not good enough for VFS.

I am of the findings that the target sear and the RB trigger do not work well together.

The Savage target triggers I find very serviceable and SAFE.
Waiting to see what TT comes up with. I have a JARD for one rig and have no complaints.

The Rifle Basix on my Savage Model 12 are great.. I could not get a Rifle Basix to work on my Savage 110..
McCarbo sells springs to make trigger lighter.. I have their springs on an Axis and it works pretty well.. Not as good as Rifle Basix...

My varmint/target Sav in 222 Rem wears a SSS trigger as does my Egg Shoot 22-250. One of my hunting guns wears a Rifle basics and the rest stock accutrggers. Never had a complaint about accuracy. Small bolt faced Savages don't seem to like large HP's, I have a whole bag of mag boxes that have been bent every which way. Ballistic tips, target HP's and softpoints feed well so no big loss other than I like .224 Speer 52gr FB HPs.

Not to beat a dead horse, but are they still in business? They still have my money and I don't have my stock.
That's strange. I ordered a stock from them at the beginning of the year and Lisa told me it would be 3 months, and 3 months later I had my stock. They were very pleasant to deal with.
