Opinions are lick elbows, everyone has a couple.
Restore or repair? Old rascal has a lot of charm. Is it all there, complete and in working order? If yes I myself would say a quality repair job. There are lots of good glues today that work wonders. The friction tape on the grip, just adds a lot of old world coooool for me.

Heck look what a lot of people are doing with the old faded paint jobs on cars, putting a clear over it to cease the wear.

Cousin has my grandpas old Winchester 22. Wrist is cracked but it was repaired with wraps of copper wire, then some wet sinew was wrapped around that and allowed to dry, that was then covered in shellac I think. Thing has the worst bore ever, but it holds minute of pop can out to close to 100 yards. It has killed box car loads of hogs and steers, along with other critters.

You can probably pick up a replacement stock from Richard's Micro-Fit.
Was able to get one for my early 40s Stevens shot gun at a "killer" price.;)
