savage pta

Im new to the forum, i appreciate all the help I've recieved thus far.
the custom action page listed the savage pta.
It would seem that this action still needs to be trued by a machinist.
What is the benifit in getting the pta if one must blueprint it anyway, could one acieve the same results by simply blueprinting a 700, or going the custom route.

In summation what do users of the pta like about it and why did you choose it.

Benefits of the Savage Target Action
1. Accurate Out of the box.
2. Floating Bolt Head.
3. Accutrigger
4. Barrel Nut
5. Dual Port, RBLP, RBRP

Go to any 600 yard BR match and 90% of the guns in the Factory Class are Savages with the target action.

The floating bolt head eliminates many alignment problems. Also I can change the bolt head when changing calibers.

The Accutrigger is simply safe.

The barrel nut makes it easy to change barrels at will.

You can get it in Dual Port, Right Bolt Left Port, and Right Bolt Right Port.

They are not a Custom Action, but they are very good.

sounds great, does the pta come in only a single shot varient or is there a repeater?

The pta comes single shot and repeater as well. Look up Northland Shooting Supply , Jim Briggs is a great guy to deal with.
