That was the 1st 20 shots I fired, basically fire forming, I can’t wait to see what it will do with formed brass, Varget and a quality scope.
Wilson barrels are great barrels. All Cooper Rifles have Wilson Barrels. The same guy that owns Cooper Rifles owns Wilson barrels.![]()

Yup, Hugo own's Both. Hand that friend (Gary Hamilton) that set new world record 2500 25X with a .22 Sporter; weight (under 7 1/2 lbs with 6 power scope. And Hugo are really close. He is sponsored by Cooper rifles.Wilson bought Cooper.
Assembled my 6mm BR 1:7 Savage prefit this week. Took it out today to break in the barrel using the Tubb system and then shooting a few groups to begin developing a load. 3 five shot groups with the Barnes 112 grain Match Busters ahead of Winchester 760 were not terribly exciting at 2 to 3" at 200 yards. Fortunately, I had thrown together a load using the 90 grain Berger and VV N135 resulting in a 1.25" group with 4 coming in at less than 1". I certainly have a place to start. By upgrading my scope (to a Nightforce 12-42X) and providing a more stable rest system, things could get interesting.
It is 1-8 twist.
I’m looking forward to trying one of these with 107 SMK’s and 105 Bergers for my monthly 600 yard midrange matches. I’ve kept several of my single shot Savages from my factory gun days and it will be great to use them.
With powder being in such short supply and more expensive, the 6’s now seem more compelling for midrange than ever before.
Get a 6bra 104 freebore. You will not regret it.
Oops!!!!It is 1-8 twist.
I may need a number of these for my guns in coming months. I’ll keep it simple to start with the little Br.
Yes, I have the three screw single shots, several of them. I believe they are large shank but I never had any other savages to compare them to.Did you order a 6br Large shank Savage?
