Savage Model12 F-class source

Hi,

Newbe here.

I've had aspirations to aquite a model 12 f-class in 6br for some time now. Though I've not found these available at places I normally look.

Can anyone provide a few sources that i may get one through.

Also I have a decision to make about the loading port configuration - is there an article that provideds the pro's and con's of left/right etc? I am a right hand shooter.

grabagun.com has 2 showing in stock. The F-class only comes in right bolt right port (normal right hand bolt action)

Thanks for the sources. I will buy new becasue I have CC money that must be spent (not a problem I'm acustomed too).

Also I did find a company "Jet guns" that has them in stock as well. Are they as good as any - this gives me two options at the same price.

PS the writeup from the classifieds ...... 0.60" 5 shot group at 300 yds..... Amazing for factory rifle.

Are your plans to buy a complete rifle or just the action and build a custom off the action. AnyFFL can get you either a complete rifle or action, they are available through the major distributors.

My plans are to buy the complete rifle.

I may use a 6.5x20 Leupold VX3 40mm scope initially but think a 36x (fixed?) may be a better better bet - later perhaps.

Also is there a reccomendation for base and rings for this - perhaps first priortity is rigdity and then eas of loading.

Just my opinion, but unless you need a rifle for a "factory" shooting class then I'd consider rolling your own. Buy just the action, then put a Criterion barrel on it, and shove it in a good stock like a PR&T. You'll spend a few more $$ that way, but you'll have a gun that shoots instead of relying on Savage to turn out a "good" one. Just my two cents.
