First, thanks guys for saving me a headache with the non-legit site.

Now then, does anyone know if they are still selling the Model 12 Precision Target Action #18183? Every place I look is out of stock and supposedly backordered. This is a 223-bolt face, right hand, left port action. Would love to get my hands on 2.

Pretty sure, or sure? When, do you know? I can find right bolt, right port. Perhaps I need to grab those.

I have. He has it in 308 bolt face. I could switch out bolt head he said. Not sure if there is a difference between the 223 and 308 specs?

Just change the bolt heads. Do some checking also with "Gun shack"
for parts. No problem with port sizes. Just be specific about what your
going to deal with regarding to which side you want to load and eject
in relation to your bolt handle.......All my PTA's are right bolt, left port.

All actions are the same other than port and bolt configuration. Buy it in the confuration you want, then make it anything you want. There is no long short magnum whatever, the bolthead dictates that, and bolt heads should be easily attainable.

Swap boltheads and shoot.

I guess if the bare action is no longer offered a person could buy a LRPV and sell off the unwanted parts. Ton of hassle though.

Don't forget the 223 bolt faces uses a spacer of sorts if I remember correctly.

Just know that there is also a difference between the extractor on a .308 bolt head and the one on a .223 bolt head. I was doing the same thing once and got burned on that one and it took me a while to figure out.
