Savage mark ii trigger

I sent him a brand new LRPV. He basically glued it together when bedding and put the recoil lug on off kilter so I could not put the screws back in "after" I got them unstuck from Devcon running down the screws. There is a guy on RFC that brags him up, as a local gunsmith. The problem I have with that is the guy that brags him up owns the website. He basically beds the rifle and crowns with a Manson cutter.

Honestly at this point i could have bought a nice used annie or 40x. 460 on smith, 370 on new savage, and 250 on stock.
Keep an eye out for a H&R model 12 . Excellent rifles with some great features . It's a copy , almost ,of the Winchester 52 C/D . Nice bolt lift , nice workable trigger , heavy duty .

Sorry . From now on , anyone that makes a claim like he did Is not aware of what he's saying or is just lying to make money . That's the cold hard truth . I've built a dozen or so savage rimfires , way more work than what you stated he did for $250 ish . Remove barrel , thread receiver, Tru bolt face , chisel point firing pin and check protrusion, fit , thread , chamber a custom barrel , drill and tap receiver for extra action screw , check firing pin spring and bolt cocking cam . Plus pillars , tuner , ammo testing . Then your almost to a 40x or win 52 or Anschutz , in performance.

As my pm . Sell , the savage will never be . Even when experimenting with a couple of mine , no matter what is done it's just not , REPEAT NOT able to keep you on the target while manipulating the bolt .
Sure you can make it shoot small groups ( with a lot more $ in it ) but fast , on target bolt manipulation is just as important . Just as important as wind flags and good ammo .

Rather than simply lambasting the claims, here is a bit of followup to think about.
First, accuracy like that is indeed rare with a gun sporting a $500 match SS barrel chambered with a match reamer.
A mass produced barrel costing maybe $75 on a production line ??? Not great odds.
Second, that accuracy is attainable SOMETIMES using great ignition involvling a custon, often massaged, $1200 action made on custom CNC machines.
The rare, albino, Savage, may come down the road to defy probabilities, but to lead folks into believing this is somehow taking place “ usually” with some bullshit fairydust..........no.

I hope he sprinkled some magic fairy dust on mine. Once ammo gets here we will find out. Ill hit up the indoor 50 yard range.

Some kind of shenanigans here on this thing with a savage .22, some will shoot very good but cheap ammo will give you cheap an inconsistant results. Try some Lapua.

I've reduced ammo testing to "does shooting 1 box at f-class targets make it look like this will shoot better than center-x"

The MKII is a good accurate gun for it's intended user, someone that want's an inexpensive hunting/ plinking gun. Many will shoot " or better, @50 yds. More will do that after bedding and crowning. They are just not BR guns. It would be interesting to see how the new GM drop in barrels for the MKII shoot. Still not BR, but could be interesting.

GM green mountain? You have piqued my interest.

Any new update on this rifle? I am thinking of sending my MKii FV-SR to him in the next month or so. Mine is already a .3 to .5 gun when I do my job with Wolf ME.

Obviously you haven't read the piece . No one , repeat no one can make the promises like this guy did , and if they do , run ...
