savage mark II bore guide

Not having much luck getting any .22 cal. bore guide to fit my new savage II .22. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

Between my two sons and my own, we have three Mark IIs. Since I could not find a decent one I turned and milled a drilled delrin rod to have the same bottom profile as a bolt. You could also probably start with a Sinclair bore guide for a 40X rimfire and then go at it with a dremel. The 40X guide starts fine but then hits internal bumps that stop it.

I have one made by Stoney Point, but was unable to find it available from Midway USA as a current offering.

Ok, thanks. I will see if stoney still makes them. I even called Savage and they said they don't use a bore guide, just stick foam cleaner down the barrel and wipe out. Hmmm. Being a long range shooter, I would still feel better with a bore guide.
