savage lrpv dual port 6 br

I just picked up my new savage dual port lrpv 6 br and have two questions. What size bushing will I need for a Redding s type neck sizing die, I will be using Lapua brass, I don't mind buying several sizes if I need to. I know this is a new style, but if I use a Farrell style picatinny base will it look ok or interfere with the dual ports. I plan on using the Burris Signature Zee rings with it. By the way it's a 1-12 twist and I've got a Leupold V3 6.5x20 lr scope to mount on it. Thanks in advance and It's my first 6 br and yes I'm excited. It's a little cold here in Minnesota so I won't be hitting the range for a while yet.

use a 0.268, 0.267, 0.266.

on no turn Necks.

With new Lapua brass loaded with berger 105vld's the necks are 0.2695 on MY brass. Those worked best for me.

Good luck! Try some Wilson Dies also! and get a body die.

With a 12 twist barrel he probably won't be able to stabilize 105 VLD's. Mine shoots the 75 VMAX prety good but I've got a 265 neck. Like Airbornemedic sez, you're probably going to end up with .268, 267 or .266.

Zebra, the base you are getting will work fine. That's exactly the same base my friend uses on his Savage 6BR. Your going to love the 6BR. I use a .268 neck bushing and it works really well.

thank you gentlemen for the advice. i am going to get the farrell piccatinny base and am i right assuming that i'll need the medium burris zee rings in the medium height if i'm using a leupold 6.5-20 with a 40 m/m front objective.

You will like the Farrel base. I had a 50 mm objective mounted in the medium Zee rings with 1/8'' clearance left on a 0 moa Farrel base including Butler Creek flip up caps.
