Nowhere in the UBR equipment rules does it state that the factory marking must index at the nine o'clock position. It states that any barrel replaced must have a letter from the manufacturer. The rules are vague but I think the intent was to prevent a custom chambered or aftermarket barrel from being used in the factory class. I'm not sure it was intended to keep a shot out barrel from being replaced with a factory takeoff barrel. If that is the intent it is unenforceable because how is it determined the barrel was replaced with a takeoff at the manufacturer or in my basement? If this gun is intended to be shot in competition, do the rules allow for any barrel replacement?
UBR Factory class for example, specifically disallows a barrel swap unless done at the mfg and a letter to prove it, from the maker. Any signs of a barrel swap not done by the maker puts the gun into the next higher class.
