Savage F-Class 6BR VORTEX GOLDEN EAGLE® HD

Hello All

I bought a Savage F-Class 6BR and a Vortex Golden Eagle scope and need recommendations on what rings and rail I should use.

Thank you

I like the vortex precission matched rings which are supposed to be seekins rings. the medium height works fine with the golden eagle. EGW makes rails for savage there are probably other rails also, someone else i,m sure will tell you if there are better rails out there.

EGW usually has two different models of rails, the heavy duty one is the better one and also a little lower in height.

EGW zero Moa rail with med ht rings will get you squared away no problem.

The Seekins or Seekins made Vortex Precision Matched rings are excellent choices. The .92" height work well with my GE. For the base any of the above mentioned will work. I would get a 20 MOA as the GE does not have a lot of internal elevation but with a 20 MOA base you can get out pretty far with it.

I would go the extra distance and put a Murphy Precision stainless rail and follow it up with Buckeye Optics stainless scope rings. Nightforce and Badger Ordinace are great too but that Fclass 6BR is a stainless action, why not follow suit with base and rings. I'm old school fieldcraft, I prefer steel.

Come into the new school as aluminum today is more than strong and secure enough especially the quality offerings.

It's a Model 12 so should be a mount that works with a Savage Model 12.

Do you think this will fit

Thank you

they have a lot of different ones

Any decent 20 MOA rail will work. Depends on how much you want to spend for the rings. You won't change your score by one point regardless of which you choose. Your rifle is HEAVY and the BR has very light recoil. I like to use steel rings so the fine threads don't strip with heavy use. I also like the aircraft grade aluminum that companies like Warne use. I build precision competition rifles and the rings are way down the list of platform concerns for long range precision. Something like the Talley or Warne (their Mountain Tech will serve you well for a reasonable price) are fine but you can pay more without hurting anything.
