Savage f class 6.5-284 chamber

Anyone know how the chamber is on the savage F class rifle in 6.5-284??? Its it a real match chamber or a looser variation? Mainly im interested in what the neck diam is.

Ive got a F-class in the 6.5-284. I dont know what the specs are on the reamer, But i can tell you it is LONG throated. I just ran out of the box Lapua Brass and had good results out of my gun.

Thanks, I just found a new take-off barrel and could not pass it up. Going to swap it onto my long action 300 rum rifle so ill have tons of magazine room if i can get it to cycle. I was thinking about trying the 123gr smks instead of the 142s?

Cool. the long action will work fine. The savage target actions port is actually a little too small to remove a loaded round. when your chasing the lands with a 140 VLD.

The 123 should shoot pretty well. but, your giving up alot of BC using the 123 verses the 139 Scenar or 142 Match king. My barrel shot the 139's and 142's about the same. I went with the 139's.

Overall I got some really goo accuracy out of mine. Its out of comission now, waiting on a new barrel.

I just got my new barrel from savage in 6.5-284 and took my inside mic to it. The neck measures .299. Seems pretty tight for a factory chamber to me.

Seems like i remember using a .296' bushing in my neck die. I cant remember. and I didnt have the tools to measure the inside neck dia.

Im curious to see how your shoots. Do let us know.
