To me it’s a little more involved to change one from a bottom to a top release. The action needs a good bit milled out for it to work.Never seen one (bottom release) but thinking there isn't too much of a problem converting top to bottom release. If you had to, you could fill the top cut out and open it on the bottom?
Had issues getting a right hand thumbhole stock cut for a left hand action.
Ended up with a mirror image bolt release cut on the left side. (![]()

Finally got a right hand stock, right hand action cut, filled the right hand bolt handle cut and recut it on the left side. If you go that way, there are LOTS of stock designs/options to choose from.
You're NOT milling out the action, just the stock. To me it’s a little more involved to change one from a bottom to a top release. The action needs a good bit milled out for it to work.
I read your post all wrong. My fault I understand now what you were sayingYou're NOT milling out the action, just the stock.
Keep it SIMPLE!! DON'T make it any harder than needed.I read your post all wrong. My fault I understand now what you were saying
