savage bolt screw

I just bought a lift kit for my Savage 12 bolt on this forum. I am having a hard gettiing that screw lose on the end of bolt. Can anyone offer a easy solution to this problem? nilebartram

I use an old barrel. Gives me about three feet of leverage. They can be pretty stubborn.

Somewhere on this site I read where someone remove the bolt laid on the bench or floor with the Allen wrench in it in such a position where the bolt stood on the lugs of the bolt the Allen wrench and the bold handle on three points and they stepped on it but I haven’t had to try this myself

I left the bolt in the action and smacked the Allen wrench with a rubber mallet.
