Savage bolt Question

How do i remove the extractor from a savage bolt
need to put it in a new bolt both are 308 case size, but need to go from right hand to leaf hand

They are under spring tension, my friend mikie said to remove it in a big plastic bag so he don't loose one again 'O)
Put it in the bag and ease it out of the groove it's in.....

Does it move out twards the outside of the bolt or inside?

The little ball is pushed up by a small spring, and the ball fits in a recess on the bottom side of the extractor, so when you push the extractor out to the outside, the spring will push the little ball out. That's why you should do this inside a clear plastic bag, it will catch the ball, the spring may stay in, but you can get it out easily.
To reinstall, drop in the spring and ball, and push the ball down, and at the same time insert the extractor, and move it to its normal position.
