David, were you able to leave the V Block just as it comes without doing any grinding on it and only mortar out the wood stock? Being the bottom of the block is flat it appears to be a fairly simple fit, or is it more difficult then it appears to be? Can't wail to see the end results after you have it dipped and it get that radical snake skin pattern.

The hardest part was getting the stock mounted solid and level in the mill. The only thing on the V Block that needs fitting will be the pillar blocks. I will need to trim them to fit the action screws. Other than that it is a drop in fit. I inspected the fit of the V Block to the action using a filler gauge to see if there were any gaps. Fit here was also really good and tight. If accuracy is not what I'm looking for I will also add a glass bed over the V Block.

I did leave room so I can later bed the tang area or leave it floated.

Great looking rig I think I need something like that don't know why but ill find something to use it on!

My use for it will be mostly target. I do deer hunt with pistols but this one is to heavy to pack for that. It would be nice for setting up evening and hunting over meadows come doe season. Also be a lot of fun to set up over a dog town. But in WV. we don't have many dog towns LOL. So I guess it will mostly see the range!!!

Just to clear the air.

I received a PM concerning this build and I do appreciate the concern.

This build did not start as a rifle action. The action purchased as a nondesinated action and was registered by my FFL as a pistol.

did this on a very cold day

this is a really cool project....what sort of accuracy would you expect to get out of this rig???

As good or better than a rifle built from the same components! It will take some good load-D and some range practice on my part.
