Savage Benchrest Rifle in 6 mm Norma BR.........

I have the Savage LRPV in 6 mm Norma BR with a 12" twist. I am getting good groups at 100 to 200yds. I am looking at the Savage Benchrest Rifle in 6 mm Norma BR, it only comes in the 8" twist. I will be using it at the same distance's. What bullets would stabilize at that distance? Any feedback on this rifle would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. DRPLP

You can pretty much shoot anything up to 107 gr in that gun with good results. Berger bullets shoot extremely well in my BRX but some guns dont shoot them well. You have to work a little harder to find their sweet spot. I shoot 107 MK's, Varget and Wolf SRM primers in my BR. I have a Shilen barrel on my BR and it doesnt like the Bergers. It's a Sierra MK gun.

I shoot the Savage Benchrest with the 8'' twist at 1 & 2 hundred yardages. It LOVES the Berger 80gr. varmint match.(RE15 powder) My friend just bought the same rifle. His loves that same bullet at those yardages.
105 VLDs work well at 3 to 6 hundred yardages. You are gonna have fun with that gun!

Don't overlook the 95gr SMK or Precision Ballistics 95gr bullets in that caliber and twist. You just might be pleasantly surprised. ;) ;D WD
