Savage barrel into a remage

Can a large shank savage barrel be rethreaded into a remage barrel?
If so anyone do it?

So there is enough shank to remove the savage threads and rethread for rem700?

Sav lg. shank is 1.120
Remington is 1.0625
.0575 diameter needs to be removed from shank
Double depth of 20 tpi thread is .0758 leaving 1.044 minor thread dia
Looks like you'll have 9 or 10 thou depth of original thread left.

The Savage is 20 tpi, Rem 700 is 16 tpi...quite a bit of original thread left, not ideal but Stan says it'll work; haven't tried this one.

Won't have to rechamber but will have to deepen the existing chamber an cone for the Remington bolt nose.
