Savage Anschutz Mark 5

I haven't found a lot of info on this rifle but its very clean and seems well taken care of. Its a single shot with maybe 25/26inch heavy barrel. I have read where there is not much than be done with the trigger. It has an adjustment screw but about 1 1/2lbs. is as light as it will adjust. I've only put ten rounds of Wold Target through it and seems like it may be a pretty good shooter. Any added info will be appreciated. Thanks

From the deep dark recesses of my memory I seem to recall that particular model from the early eighties. It was an inexpensive entry level match rifle promoted for beginning 4-position shooters, they were never very popular since most folks (even beginners) wanted something a little better. I seem to recall that they sold for around $199 new and remember seeing them sold for as little as $99.
Shoot it and enjoy it for what it is.

Savage imported the rifles from Anschutz (Germany) hence both names being on there. It is an Anschutz in all regards.
I am ot super familiar with a MK5 but, I grew up shooting the 10D and still have the one I shot in the NRA Junior Small-bore. It is an exceptional accurate rifle.
The 10, 10A, 10B, 10C, 10D, and 12. The better ones, like the Model 10 used the Anschutz 64 action, which was just a step down from the then-top of the line Model 54 bolt action.
The prices on them only keep going up although I never plan to part with mine its fun to watch them rise in value.
Gosh knows how many rounds are down the pipe on mine but, its as accurate as I can shoot it for sure.

Savage Anschutz were build by Anschutz and sold by Savage. There were also some Anschutz Savage guns that were build by Savage and sold by Anschutz.

I've only shot it a little but for an entry level rifle, it shoots bug holes with Wolf Match Target at 50yds. The trigger could be better but I hear there's not much than be done with the trigger. All in all, its a fun little rifle and will be fun shooting at club matchs.
