Savage Anschutz 141 22 mag

A while back I bought this little rifle. Its in a nice walnut stock and in VGC except someone before me cut the factory barrel down a few inches. It still shoots very good but its a little short and I'm sure it didn't help the value. After shooting it yesterday, I got to thinking it would be fun to maybe upgrade the barrel. But it is still very accurate in its present condition. I'm talking 5 shot groups under 1/2inch at 50 yds and +/- an inch at 100yds depending on me and the wind. Should I leave well enough alone or maybe have a new barrel installed? Is a quality barrel going to make that much difference. I know ammo is an issue with a 22 mag and it shoots the 30 grain V-Max really well as it is. And the short barrel does make it very handy.
The guy I bought it from said I wouldn't be disappointed in it and must say he is correct. Maybe I'm just throwing money at something that won't improve what I already have????????

Since I posted this I have read a few articles on rebarreling a 22 mag and it sorta sounds like I already have a pretty accurate rifle the way it is now. Probably be smarter to use the money for ammo instead of a barrel.
