Savage Accutrigger reassembly - please school me

I thought I would start a new thread on this. My accutrigger looks different than most of the pics I can find. I am having a heck of a time installing the sear spring after a bedding job. Here are pics of my trigger.... one shows the spring in the receiver where I think it goes. Another with the spring sitting outside the trigger. A couple more from other perspectives.

Any tricks. I can't figure out what I am missing. Why am I fighting this?

the spring in the picture goes in between the sear and trigger hanger on the left side - http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index.php?topic=3808431.0

I just took the blade out of my M12. When I pulled the trigger off, the spring fell out. when I took the pin out. I removed the washer and pin and pulled the trigger blade out and then replaced the trigger. Then took many tries replacing the whole thing. One time, I got it all together and couldn't get the safety, etc. to work. Found out the tab on the rear goes under, not on top. I think it would go easier if the trigger was left off until last. As mentioned, the spring goes between the two hanger holes, I think, on the right side, or left, upside down. After I got it installed correctly, it kept firing when I put the rear receiver screw in. I found the little ledge in the stock was hitting the trigger bar on the rear and releasing the sear. Had to carve a small bit of the stock off. Use a Pin punch to line up the holes while pushing the pin thru the action. Maybe something in all this that will help. Ron

Here is a few pics, by Mossy Horns, that helped me a lot.

I'm watching this post. Hoping to learn something as well.
None of my Savage accutrigger sear springs look like the pic of yours.
I have 6 savages some older stagger feed and the newer centerfeed.
All of the springs on mine have equal length legs of the sear spring

The spring in your pic has a long leg and a shorter leg. Is there anyway this spring came from somewhere else?
It kinda looks like trigger springs in the pre accutrigger guns

Look at the pics in the links provided by the guys posting before me. That is what my trigger springs look like

Thanks fellows, I've read all those(and then some). I still struggled until it hit me right between the eyes. I had the spring in backwards. Turned it around and everything just about fell together. Thanks again!

Wait until you've had a real old one apart, the sear is pressed together in parts, not only a pin and spring but little spacers too.....which of course helped hold the whole thing together.......

And this is why I don't like Salvages! My first rifle was a Salvage 110, and after doing a bedding job I asked myself. Why do I spend so much time putting a trigger in that once installed is a POS? So, I sold the rifle and I now shoot nothing that won't hold a Jewell trigger.

The funny part is I always hear people say they like Salvages so much because they can work on them! :o ;D

Glad you got it figured out.

Erik, you have made your point about your dislike for Savages on numerous occasions. Do you realize people don't like to have product that they own trashed? Perhaps you should read Dale Carnegie's book.

Not trashing them, just told my experience with them.

I did look up the book, and I will add it to my must read list.
I just finished reading "The Traveler's gift" by Andy Andrews, great read!

I was pretty glad too, felt pretty foolish when all was done. I really like my Savages because they allowed me to be able to afford to compete. I would never have tried the game if I would have had to fork out the bucks that many have in their custom rigs. I really enjoy seeing the good stuff at the matches. Some day maybe, but for now these Savages will allow me to get schooled up, while also allowing me to be fairly competitive.

PS, thanks for all the tips you and many others post, I've learned a great deal!

Here is some information about our Florida State 1000yd gong shoots. First year (custom) action was 1 - 3 - 4 second was a savage Second year (Savage) was 1 - 2 and 4 and custom was third. Our target is 8''round steel gong that swings. We score with spotters so the gong hast to stop moving before you shoot again. It is all about accuracy and shooters ability . Our Monthly shoots. We practice go down and paint then shoot 5 shots for score then paint 5 more shoots then paint and shoot 5 more. That is a total of 15 shots in1 1/2 hours. We have to maintain 8/10 MOA over 1 1/2 hours Without any practice. Not too bad for a POS Good Shooting Larry

So you are saying Salvages always shoot perfect scores? If not, then your statement is erroneous.
