Savage A17

Mine is the wood stocked ,I guess heavy bbl. Other than the magazine is a minor headache . Its deadly accurate on squirrels at 200yds . Murdered a 100+ on alfalfa pivot today in Paradise valley
North of Winnemucca NV.

I have one of the Target Sporter Laminate model A17's. It has a heavy barrel with a laminated wood stock but it isn't the thumbhole stock model.

Mine shoots pretty consistent 1in groups at 100yds which is plenty acceptable to me for a gun like this. The factory magazines can be kind of a pain in the arse to load until you get used to them but the Butler Creek mags load pretty easy and I've not had any problem with feeding in mine.

The trigger in mine was pretty bad so I messaged on it for a couple hours and ended up with a MUCH better trigger. It took some doing but I was able to get nearly all of the creep out of it and got it down to a pretty consistent 2.5lbs.

I tend to shoot my 17 WSM a lot more than either of my 17 HMR's but when I do shoot one of the HMR's it's always the A17, I can't remember the last time I shot my Sav. 93/17 HMR.

I heard the squirrels are thick out there. Need any help? Call in an airstrike from Fallon NAS?
