Savage 6.5 prc build

I wanted to run my build by you guys and make sure it will work. I have a savage 10 that was originally a 243 win. It is a 4.275” short action. I was going to order a magnum bolt face from PTG. A criterion standard shank heavy spotter barrel from Northland shooter supply.I want to keep the original hardwood stock it came with. MDT bottom metal will fit both a 4.275 and a 4.4 action. I figured some fitting will be required. Aics 6.5prc mags.

Any issues with this build?

What kind of bottom metal came with your Savage? When moving to AI magazines, most aftermarket bottom metals require an M5 inlet (originally defined by Badger). I don't think Savage offers any rifles with an M5 inlet. It will be a challenge to find a way to make that cut in your OEM stock.

That’s a good point. Forgot about that. It’s a bottom hinge bottom metal. So definitely not a m5 bottom. PTG makes a bottom metal that looks like it fits a factory savage bottom metal. Anybody confirm this?
