Savage .308 BR Factory rifle ?

I cant find any info. on a blued factory 30" barreled benchrest stocked .308, my question is, was there one made by them early in 2000 thereabouts when they came out with the long barreled wide 3" forearm stock in 6 BR and .308 in SS.

So you expect good info on a 20 year old low volume rifle that is not collectible or in any other way notable. Maybe call Savage and ask them directly. Not everythingis well represented on the internet. 70% of the vintage electronics and rifle info I google is not available on line even with 6 or more hours of research time. It is what it is. Savage is more desirable and respected today than ever before. Before they were considered polished turds and while they had a loyal following they were anything but well documented. Traditionally most gun enthusiast were electronically handicapped and most are still dinosaurs. I do not mean that to be offensive just a fact of life. So things are generally poorly documented unless you have a large following of enthusiast or it is worth it's weight in gold.

It would help to have the Savage model number.

I used Savage's for PALMA and Match Rifles for years, they had a Custom Shop and you could get what you wanted.

I'm unsure of a 30" barrel but the Model 112BT came out in the early 90's.

If it's an open-top action, *without* an AccuTrigger, it's probably a 12/112BT-S or something like that. Those had the old-school tan laminate stocks, with the big fore-end that looked like a club. Those did come in stainless or blued, IIRC, though that did pre-date my serious involvement with Savage rifles. Pretty sure the stock barrel config was 26", though, and I'm fairly positive that none left the factory chambered in 6 BR at that point.

The 12 BR came out in 2008-2009 time frame, using a Target Action and a 29" barrel that sorta resembled a heavy Palma contour (more of a straight taper, but similar weight/dimensions). AFAIK, the default config was 6 BR or .308, with an odd stock that had sort of a beaver-tail fore-end, but not what anyone other than a factory engineer would ever consider a modern 'BR' stock. I don't recall if it was RBRP, RBLP or dual port.
