Savage 223 build suggestion/advice

ok guys, so basically I am picking up a savage 223 in an xlr evolution chassis. I want to put a 1/7 twist barrel on it because I have a 1/9 already that shoots lighter 50g bullets. My plan is to change the barrel, maybe change to a cheaper chassis and add a scope that I can have a custom turret made for it. This will hopefully be a decent 500-600 steel gun. This will be mag fed so I'm guessing max length I can load it to 2.26 or so, so what 69g-80 is a good choice. Really this is just something to talk about and get ideas because it seems like a really fun build to me. I just honestly love the 223 round

So here are all my questions I have been pondering in my head.

What chassis to go with.
What 1/7 barrel.
What scope to get that gas custom turret options.

GO WITH A REM VARMINT CONTOUR X-CALIBER AND FORSURE YOU WANT BE DISAPPOINTED VERY IMPRESSED WITH MY 1/7 X-CALIBER

I've got a Savage 12FV in 223 with 9 twist, and read in the owners manual or online that they do their accuracy testing with Sierra MK's 69gr. Might try some of those before changing barrels unless you just want a 7 twist.

My 12Fv likes the light weights so far but I've not done any load work on this gun yet.

with my savage 1-9 twist,it will shoot 68 bthp hornady and sierra 69 bthp really good, with varget and rl15
with varget its 25.3 .010 off lands, cant remember the load on the rl15

i also have a 1-7 twist savage barrel that will also shoot the 68,69 really good

Why the custom turrets? Then your stuck with one bullet. For a budget build I would to whatever chassis you can afford, a vx3i leupold, 75gr amax and varget. The most accurate and repeatable gun Ive ever owned was basically that combo.

Also, the 75gr amax smacks steel pretty hard at 600. I killed numerous ground hogs at 500-650 yards with that combo and you could really hear the smack!!

My 1-9 twist Savage 12 FLVSS shoots 75 gr BTHP & 77 gr BTHP's excellent, the longer 75 gr Amax doesn't shoot as well with a 1-9. If you want to shoot the AMax or heavier pills,I'd go with a 1-7 twist.

Chassis is up to you,I'm not into them.

Scope,Sightron SIII all day long.
