Savage 22-250 rifling question

I bought a savage 110 long range varmint rifle that has some pretty rough marks on the rifling. Tiny lines that run horizontally on the rifling. Thing is it shoots fantastic. Put three shots in the same hole on the last 3 shots of the day yesterday. Shots 23, 24, 25. I almost started to wonder if I had a flier or two that went off paper. Should I be concerned of this or just shoot it and not worry about it. Research shows it’s typical of savage rifles but would like y’all’s opinions as well. Below is a picture of the first three shots after break in and the last three. (Black target) these were. 15 shots total without cleaning. Thanks.

Shoot it!

Typical Savage barrel. They look like hell with a bore scope and tend to copper a lot but generally shoot very well.
Yeah that seems to be the census. It’s a shooter none the less. It’ll stack’em in there. This is my first savage rifle

The thing with Savages is they are never the prettiest girl at the dance but, damn they can get down with the best of them. I just purchased a .308 barrel from a member here that had an unknown round count or history. I screwed it onto a spare action I had, cleaned it real good and took it to the range for a little load work up with the Sierra 155 Tipped Match Kings. After a few foulers to get the scope zeroed I shot a few groups. Very happy with the results so far, just need to get rid of that 5th shot flyer.

Nice groups. I can’t wait to load for this rifle. I’m glad to hear it’s just a savage barrel then. But man it’s a shooter

Lol. im just making sure it’s not going to cause problems down the road

How are you going to know that ? As it is, shoot it, enjoy it and worry about a problem if and when it turns up. So far those targets just show how good a whole lot of savage's shoot, from the get go.

yes the gun shoots great but if I’m only going to get half the life expectancy out of it then I might as well get the warranty done now and save myself the hassle of spending more money down the road. Idk that’s why I ask these questions. I’ll most likely just shoot it and enjoy it cause it is shooting great and from what I’ve read it’s just a savage barrel

Warranty? They'll replace it maybe with one just like it or one a lot worse. Not all Savage barrels shoot like yours but they look the same inside. Keep your good fortune! It probably has a 12 twist and that's probably what's contributing to those great groups. I can't understand the 14 twist that most manufacturers put on the 22/250. My Savage shoots .150" at a hundred with 53g. VMax, 12 twist. The only problem you'll have down the road, because it shoots so good it will be the only rifle you'll want to shoot and the bore will be gone before you know it!! LOL!

I have a Savage LRPV. 22-250 12 twist, the factory barrel was consistently 1/2 minute. This was the barrel that made me realize how good PatchOut is. Lots of patches and nylon (oh God not nylon) brush to keep up with the copper but it shot great. It was replaced with a Shilen, much less copper and tighter groups but more $$$$

It’s better barrels. less copper. tighter groups. more money.

“It's faster horses. younger women. older whiskey. more money. “

It’s always more money...
