Savage 204 40gr vmax twist

I just bought a take off savage barrel on here and it shoots the 40 vmaxs excellent. So i decided to check the twist. Sure enough, dead on 1:11. Ive checked it 6 different ways with same results. Is this a fluke? Or is savage sneaking this in so their barrels shoot the 40's?

Ive heard others say that its a 1:11 twist on the ruger 204 forum but savage says they have only made 1:12 twist. Ive own 6 different 204 rugers all with 1:12 and never had a problem shooting any 40's out of it

I never checked my savage barrels, but the advertised 12 twist is the standard and definitely preferred the heavy 39-40gr over the 32gr. Surprisingly, my PacNor 10 twist barrels prefer 32gr bullets.
It seems very strange that savage would "slip" an 11 twist or even be able to accidentally do it in production. I would just shoot what it likes!

I had 2 savage factory 1-12" twist barrels ,a 12FV and a 10 predator,both shot everything great.when shot out replaced them with 1-11".Some 1-12" just won't shoot 40's most all 1-11 will.
