savage 12BTCSS 223

Ive got A savage model 12BTCSS in a 223. Great rifle shoots nice under half inch at 100, but i cant seem to get the trigger any lighter than 2 pound. Its only the accuTrigger not the target accuTrigger. Ive got a model 12 F Class 6mmbr from savage and itsgot the target accuTrigger and its 5 onces just beatifulbut my 223 seems to be to heavy its only my field rifle but would be nice to be a little lighter. Any thoughts?

Try a Timney, RifleBasix, or SSS.

Or....and good luck finding one...buy a target accutrigger setup (WITH the sear)..and install this on your 223.

What you need is a Rifle Basics Sav ll, it will adjust down to under 4 oz, but that might be to light for a field gun. That may be why Savage changed there trigger, they dont want a real light trigger on a hunting rifle.
Mike.

The r/b sav2 is advertised to go to 4 oz but rarely ever do. Two pounds is light enough for a hunting gun. Dont believe me try to shoot your f class holding it like your 223. If your still intent on a new trigger get the sss comp. Its adjustable safely down to 12 oz to I believe 24 oz and only about $100 and its way nicer than the sav2 even though it does not go as low.
