Savage 12 target actions and 6.5-284

With say Savages target action in 308 could you rebarrel to a 6.5-284? Would there be any issues feeding though the port in the receiver. I would single feed.

No, you wouldn't have any problems. I know with my straight 284 on a Savage PTA, if I want to eject a loaded round, I have to remove the bolt slightly to get the projectile to clear the ejection port. I don't think the 6.5-284 round is that long however..

Thanks. I am looking at a 3.125 OAL. Should I be able to eject a loaded round? That would be a big plus.

I am at 3.228 on the 284 and have to remove bolt slightly to eject... I can't say for sure, but you are going to be real close..
