Savage 110 bolt ??

I opened the case on my Savage 110 and found the "rear bolt Assy. loos in the case.
My questions are ;
will it hurt anything to shoot it with the baffle off ?
.

thank you

Do not shoot it without the rear baffle,you will have zero primary extraction and zero extraction period. Are you missing the rear baffle right now?

Thank you,
I have the baffle and got it back on this AM, but it seams loose. There is a little hole on the underside below the spring loaded ball bearing that holds the baffle in place. The hole feels like it is threaded but the diagram of the bolt doesn't show any hole OR set screw ??

Does the baffle feel loose when cocked AND un-cocked? Or only when un-cocked?

The hole is a result of machining the spring pocket. There is no set screw, just a spring and two balls. "Loose" is subjective, some are better than others. I've had rifles I could just pull the rear baffle off the assembled bolt.
