Sand for rear bag ?

I found that playground sand will break down over a short period of time & become dust. Then you start to feel the soft spots in the bag.

Bought the Sinclair black sand years ago & never regretted it. The industrial grade sand from casting is probably equally good.

++ On the Forster funnel and Zircon. Works great lasts a LONG time. Some will fill heavy in the base and playsand in the ears. If a competition rear bag, If my memory serves me correctly..lead is not allowed as a filler for F-class or IBS. Eric in DL

I want to thank everyone for the input. A WHOLE lot of info and some great links as well. I am sure the Tracker stock in my new to me toy will be running steady and true. Then to hold up my end with no ( yeah right ) equipment excuses.....New adventure.. 8)..FUN..FUN..FUN.!!

I recently had to fill a Dr Bag. I read on here someplace, if you have a Tractor Supply store close to you. They carry Garnet sand, which they sell as a sand blasting media. Its right up there in weight of what the black sand Sinclair sells and other places sell. It came in a 50 lb drum for only 28 bucks. After I filled my Dr bag rear bag, 2 front bags, and a smaller rear bag, it didnt even look like I put a dent in it. I have enough for my lifetime, my kids lifetime, and if they are still shooting bullets and not laser guns, my kids-kids lifetime.

The heavy sand is 15.00 for 10 pounds+ USPS flate rate box which costs $12.35. Is shipping supposed to be free?
