There's also ultra light fill from Boxtobenchprecision.com, it's the lightest fill available anywhere. Pro-Tip: Only fill bags 80-85% full when using stuff like the boxtobench fill and no more than 90% when using actual sand. You get better results. You might check out SpexLite ELA fill. 1-2mm particle size, hard like sand but only about .5lbs per liter. It does dust and I've not been able to check on its water absorbency/rejection. Both the Boxtobench stuff and the SpexLite ELA have really good lock-in when you don't overfill your bag.

I've used regular beach sand , do you really think a different type of sand will help you shoot tighter groups. If you were shooting a Winchester model 94 lever action then maybe every little bit would help but most BR shooters using benchrest set-ups , it's the person behind the trigger. Get a good front & rear bag and fill it to what feels best for you.

Heavy sand in my rear bags. Fine play sand in the ears. I want them as heavy and stable as possible.

Yes. The bags with heavier sand are much less likely to move or twist during shooting. Even filling the bag on your front rest with heavy sand will add more weight and help with movement and torque.
