sand bag anti slide?

Have a problem with my Protekor rear bag sliding each shot, so that I need to realign it before next shot. The cement bench top I use is very smooth. I glued preforated shelf lining to bottom of the flat leather bag surface, but no help.

Other than sandpaper is there any product out there to create a rough surface for the bottom of my rear rest?

Thinkin here - Rustoleum makes a stone textured spray. Anyone ever try that?

Hmm, try a couple of strips of duct tape stuck to bottom of bag.

Sounds like your rifle is sticking in the bag too; perhaps some leather slickener on the ears?

Can you take a picture of the bag? What caliber are you shooting?

I'd think a Donut Bag/Stabilizer/Dead Bottom bag would likely help.

They also help A LOT when you shoot on uneven terrain. It will keep your bag from slipping and rocking solving two problems at once. For older style bags with a soft leather bottom that bulges it will also help them conform to the stabilizer and once again solve any rocking or slipping problems.

I think gluing the shelf liner on made it harder and lose grip. You need to use fresh stuff, it gets harder with age and sun. Some brands are stickier then others. I can lay a piece on the bench and place bag on top. You can hardly move it. Maybe the bag itself is moving. If you compete in competition you need to watch rules. Sandpaper and anything sticky like glue is illegal. Matt

I think it's a great idea. I have found the bags don't stay flat on the bottom . Iwouldthink a flat piece of material with thick shelf liner.would work great . I use it on my dash to stop my field glass from moving when driving . Stops the cell phone also .

30 BR with Edge stock is not the problem. I shoot GH matches.

I have a Otto donut for the old type round bottom bags, but that is not useable with my new rear bag (the bottom is solid 1/2" hard compressed leather.)

I will try the duct tape idea. Maybe a new layer of shelf liner would work. What about the stone textured spray? Thanks for all responses.

Are you sure it is the bag Sliding? Not the bag moving because it needs a little sand. When I put shelf liner under mine I can push real hard to get it to move. Some brands of it really hold like they are sticky. Go to Walmart and rub your fingers on some different kinds. You can feel the ones that grip. Matt

Glue a silicone hot-pad to the bottom, or simply put the bag on the pad. The material is non-slip

1/8" neoprene sheet. Can be had at any gasket and rubber supply house. Very grippy.

I would find your local roofing company and ask for a few feet of Pressure Sensitive EPDM Flashing .
Most people would give you that much ; just clean the bottom and stick it on and you will be set.
If your bag is not flat on bottom just do like a 1'' border around it.

Fill the bag with "heavy sand".
Before you ask, I dont know where you get it. I sure another member could tell you of a source.
I have a rear bag filled with it and does not move on a concrete top.

Skip Otto's donuts were created to solve that problem. Edgewood offers a large one. or have Protektor make one. In a pinch you could wipe the top with a cloth, then wet the top with a little water. Works well with unpainted concrete but not as well with painted tops. Make sure the logo on the bag faces you so the slope of the ears matches the slope of the gun.
I have had close to a dozen rear bags, and with the exception of the Gator and mini-gator (filled with heavy sand), all the rubber bottom bags moved for me.
