Same dies for 22br and 6br??

Hi all,
I have a question for those of you out there that have both of these calibers. I have a 6br, but just the basic redding fl set (got them for 20 bucks at a local pawn shop) I was wanting to get a better set of dies, but now I bought a 22br too. I have read that I can load both of these cartridges with one die set, but have heard that you can only use the seater of a 22 on the 6mm and not the 6 seater on the 22. If anyone can set me straight on which dies to get I would appreciate it. I have been leaning towards the redding bushing dies for the 6br and just getting a bushing for the 22 (.251 in my case). Can a person use the same body die on these two? What about the neck die?

The body dies will be the same, and of course the seater will need to be for a smaller caliber..
The only way you can use the same die is if you have a 6br neck sizing bushing die and then you can use a bushing thats smaller for your 22br.... in that same die..
It sounds like you have it right on what you need..... best of luck with it....

I find it too much of a PIA to switch from .22 BR to 6mm BR. That's why I have the bushing die set for each. I also have die sets for the .22-250, 6mm/250, and .250 Savage cartridges. That way I can just screw in the appropiate die and not have to change the bushings or anything else!

so its no big deal to use a redding type s fl size die in 6br for the 22BR, just change bushings?

The 22 BR is made from the 6BR case so the body is the same. If you have a full length bushing die for the 6BR, just pick up a set of bushings in the size you want for the 22BR neck and you're set. You should be able to use the 6BR body die on the 22 BR case. If you get a 22BR body die, the pilot (neck) hole would have to be opened up for the 6BR neck.
