Nice find. I have the Sako 22PPC sporter barrelled version, it’s a repeater. I use some sako 22PPC brass in it, shoots fantastic. Just get the Sako or USA 6PPC dies. You can neck down Norma 6PPC brass easy enough, that Sako brass comes up now and again in the classifieds. I believe the hole in your trigger guard is the version Sako offered that allows you to adjust the trigger through that hole. I’m using N133 and H322 with 50 ballistic tips. Recoil is mild enough to see hits in the scope, it’s a fun rifle.

Enjoy!

I shoot a 22 PPC chambered with an original spec PPC reamer. I am able to use a PPC USA die (Bushing FL) and no turn neck. It is not a PPC USA chamber but the earliest Pindell?Palm reamers let me get away with it.

I have had success using 322 and N133 and 50-52 grain bullets. The SAKO rifles are not as stout as some of the customs, so don't try to run it like a death ray. I use mine (an early 60's Superior custom action for occasional informal shooting and groundhogs. It will lay them down at 500 yards using a 50 grain Vmax.

My best accuracy has happened with Older Sako brass, fed GM primer, H322 and a 52 grain Berger. I have never tried a custom bullet in it.

I agree with not running these too hot. I have the 6PPC version I picked up in the 80's. Looking at the "dainty" bolt face alone should be warning. Still - these are a sweet, super-accurate factory gun. Good find!
