The Sako single shot 6 ppc and 22 ppc, what model are they OR What action are they on? Is it the Vixen action? I hate to sound ignorant, but I never followed Sakos. I like them, but never knew how they classified their actions e.g the Finnbear. I assume it is dependent on the length of the action????

Aren't they the L491? Was Vixen, then IIRC L461. The 491 was newer. Heck my memory sucks anymore. Unfortunately I sold all my L461's back when they were cheap, like $400 or thereabouts. :(

They started out as Single shot 461's (actually AI's) and lightweight repeaters. I've read about LW hunters in .22 PPC USA, but haven't seen one. I just purchased an AI 6 PPC USA LWH. The 22 and 6 PPC USA was produced in later models as well. S491 varmint for sure.

not a Sako expert, but there are confusing classifications : based on when manufactured, importer, and date of mfr. "L" actions earlier, then "A" actions, then more modern,Model 75, and 85. 2 or 3 distributors in US - Stoeger, Garcia, Beretta.
I have a Sako mod 75 SS fluted bbl. 6 ppc , single shot, stainless, lam stock. It came with a .100 something target in box - 100 meters. Here's a pic of box from a listing on GB I was checking today. Just to show how many iterations made. This is 1980's I think.
So importer, action length, model #. Bofors steel version well respected, altho I am only repeating what I've " heard".

Just don’t call them Say-kos (like the watch). It’s pronounced “Sock-o”. o_O
Stick with those older actions. Tikka/Sako going downhill fast, since Beretta bought them out.

What bad experience have you had with Sako/Tikka? My T3 and T3x have buttery smooth bolt action, and a fantastic crisp trigger with zero creep. They are both remarkably accurate.
