Sako or sliding plate extractor?

Which bolt face is/are these extractors going to be retrofit to?

Pinned mini or std width M16 extractor depending on face diameter.

A blanked/pierced primer w/ a SAKO extractor is not good unless you like 40-50,000 psi of plasma sandblasting your cheek.

Sliding Plate extractors, unless the machine work is top notch-SUCK!

I have two BAT actions and one has a Sako and the other has a sliding plate. The Sako is on a PPC SV action and has the ejector...works perfect. The sliding plate is on a BR model B action and I ordered it without the ejector, but I didn't specify the type of extractor (because at that point I was clueless about it). It too works perfectly.

I'm about to order another SV action to build a 20VT on. I do not want it to eject. Based on some IMs and comments, I get the feeling it doesn't really matter.

Is an M16 extractor the same as a sliding plate extractor? When I Googled images of it, it sure didn't look like what BAT is offering as a sliding plate.

All I gathered from that post was many of the shooters do not like Sako extractors. Does that mean sliding plate is a better option?

The sliding plate is inletted into the front of a lug. Kelblys use this style on all their actions. Bat uses it on some of theirs. It would be the safest in an over pressure situation. Sako and m-16 style both have the potential to become flying debris if you blow a case head. Personally I dont make a habit of blowing guns up so I have no problems with any of them and when I do its probably time to find a new hobby. The reason Bat uses a sako on some bolts is for the ejection angle. It helps keep the shorter cases from being dropped in the action. I wouldnt say any are better, just different. They all work well.

Yes, I don't make a habit of getting in car accidents. But, the safety belt and air bag are welcome accessories! The sliding plate is the safer choice.

Let bat put the one in there they want to. If they usually put a sliding plate on that combo and you specify a sako type then dont say nothin if it doesnt work half the time. As was said they use different ones for different angles and port sizes.
