Sako Optilock ? will it fit a CZ457 Dovetail??

I have a new CZ 457 due in shortly. Have a Sako Optilock dovetail mount that is for the 11mm. Dovetails found on some European receivers. Was wondering if this mount would fit onto the CZ receiver? The Optilock has a center recoil “ lug” that fits into a Sako , not sure if any of the CZs have this.

Scroll down a tad (3 pic's) to see the top of the CZ457 action.
There are indeed 4 little indents (holes?) that your mount 'might' fit into.
Just had a quick look at my CZ457, and the holes are about 4-5mm diameter.
If needed larger/deeper holes you could 'maybe' alter these holes to suit anyway? Would that work?

You can get a wee block that sits on the dovetail, and then the Optilock ring fits into that.
This is in NZ, and price is $NZD...so don't have a heart attack! Compared to $USD our $ is the Pacific Peso.

Thanks for asking this, as I am also looking at alternative mounts for my CZ and your thread was most timely.

Thanks for the links to the very informative articles on the 457 action Grey Kiwi! Though I've been a long-time admirer of CZ's 22RF rifles, I didn't purchase my 1st one until they released the 457 series, and I now own three of them - American, Varmint MTR, and Varmint Precision Trainer. Since I'm a ffl dealer, I also bought two Americans & a Varmint for re-sale, and kept the American with the nicest stock....which may have been a mistake, as its accuracy was definitely sub-par. The Varmint MTR shot very decently right out of the box, while the VPT's bbl had some issues that convinced me to replace it - as I did with the American - by buying Shilen ratchet rifled, select match blanks that I machined & chambered myself with an Eley EPS reamer. The resulting improvement in accuracy with the Shilen barrels have turned the American & VPT into two of my favorite 22RF rifles, even though I also own several Vudoo V22s (both repeaters & single shots), and a Zermatt RimX.

I wouldn't have gone to the effort & expense of re-barreling two of my 457s if it weren't for the attractive features of this action, most certainly including the fully adjustable triggers, the same sort of bolt stop as my custom action CF rifles have, and the attractive steel trigger guard, which is a big step up in appearance from the older stamped steel guards of the previous 452/455 actions. I also appreciate how attractive the Turkish walnut stock of my American is, even though it's no where near as nice as some that I've seen photos of over on RFC, where there are a large number of CZ fans among the forum members.

At the same time (early 2017) that I was buying these CZs, I was also very interested in the Tikka T1x, as the vast majority of owners of the Tikka raved about the accuracy of their new rifles, while the factory bbl of my American was no where near as accurate as I'd hoped for. No doubt building several custom 22RF rifles - including ones based on Stiller 2500XR and CMP Rem 40X actions - had spoiled me where accuracy expectations were concerned. But I still can't help but thoroughly enjoy shooting my CZ 457s. The CZ actions are robust & reliable - I've never had any sort of an issue with how well they feed, fire, extract, and eject - and the triggers are excellent IMHO, easily adjusted for a clean, crisp break at 1lb or slightly under. So by the time the Tikka 22 became a little easier to find, I'd decided I didn't really need one.

I've purchased several scope rails for my 457s from Triggers by BScar - a retired CNC machinist who has designed & built some very fine adjustable custom triggers for both the 455 & 457 - along with these scope rails, which are available with 0 or 25 MOA slope, as well as standard or extended lengths.

Hi Dennis, thanks for that reply.
Yes, I too enjoy my CZ.
Mine is an 'At-One' CZ457 Varmint, 24".
I bought it to use for indoor rimfire benchrest 25 yards.
It is very accurate. Beats a FWB target rifle I had, although the FWB had a superb trigger.
My CZ trigger is OK, but not stellar. Put in a lighter spring, honed the sear on a 3000grit waterstone, etc.
It responded to all that, but I'm 'trying' to replicate the old FWB trigger I suppose.
I have ordered a Timney trigger to replace it.
I see no reason to bed my stock (yet?), but as Winter is approaching here in NZ then maybe one day I will get bored and have a play.
I am just using scope rings (no rail), firstly to mount a Leupold 45x45 Competition scope. That scope was 2nd hand and didn't inspire me with confidence.
New scope on the way to me now is a 'Made in Japan' Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50x60 (AKA the 'Big Nikko' , Mk3). It's an older model but NIB. Was happy to find it.
That should be a nice scope.
I looked at rails and may need to fit one to get clearance for that fat Nikko objective lens.
Enjoyed your informative reply.
I would like a few more CZ's but Missus would grumble!
