I have been told there is no such round. I am the fourth owner of this rifle ,it was purchased in 1959-60 in Kerrville texas the serial #is 3949 . Stamped on the barrel ,under original blueing ,is Womack 244 .I shoot 100 gr. 6mm remington bullets and they group very well..Would like to know about the "womack 244". Any information would be appreciated, thank you.

Nothing under that name in Howell's book Custom Cartridges. What do the fired cases look like? Is it an improved rem 244 shape? What brass do you use??

I did a Google search of Womack gunsmith and Lester Womack came up as a gunsmith listed in the Gun Digest from 1960's-1990.

You might search google " Lester Womack"and find out more.
