Sako Forester heavy barrel

Found a heavy barrel 579 in a local pawn shop today. It's in pretty decent condition, with one little chip in the stock and normal handling marks. What would be a reasonably good price on one of these? I haven't really been looking for one, so pardon me for being a dummy. Thanks!

for me it would have to be really clean. of course caliber would make a difference for me. if it was a 243 or 308 id pay more. seems like the 22-250s are easier to find. but the bofors barrels are known to be shooters so if all lined up i would probably be a buyer around that price. if ur looking to resale for profit i would deffinately talk him down if u can.

There is a nice one on Gunbroker with a Leupold scope on it that they are asking $1000. as the opening bid with no reserve.6mm Remington.

One of the true great actions ever...smooth as butter. I know it looks petite, but it's really a great rifle. Every good rifleman should have at least one...at one time they made a single shot also!!

for a collector that would be significant, but seeing that its already been used with some handling marks, i wouldnt worry about it too much. probably deduct 25-50 dollars.

honestly thats up to u. without looking at it personally all i can give is a guess. really u need to determine what u plan to do with it and how bad u want it/need it. i have known others including myself to over pay on items i really really want or need. if u have been wanting one just like this then the price doesnt really matter. if it fits what u want ...get it and go on. sako holds value regardless of alot of things. ive purchased really beat up ones for 450-600. but i wanted them...so i bought them.what one man considers junk is often another mans treasure. i just happen to be a sucker for sako. and blonde women also..both have cost me alot of money but my rate of return is always better in the sako.lol...get the drift.

+1 on rate of return on Sako versus blondes; no contest there! Sako all the way...
