Saguaro action.

I am in the process of testing a new rifle with the Marsh Saguaro action. After one session at the range, I am favorably impressed. James Mock PS- The rifle features a Bruno/McMillan graphite stock/Krieger 13.5 twist barrel/ Jewell trigger/ Valdada 36X scope and Kelbly rings. It was put together by Gary Ocock. Below are three 3-shot groups using old brass that had been fired in my BAT. Stay tuned.....James

James,
Thanks for sharing your results.

Very nice James, very promising can we have a couple complete pics of the rifle, it looks to be beautiful.

Yes, like a Panda with 1 1/16" cut out of the middle. This may sound like a lot, but you need to look at the lengths of common benchrest actions. It is not so much that this one is short, but that the Panda is relatively long.

I shot the rifle some more this morning...this time with N133 and the Column bullets. This rifle will really shoot. I am going to hate to return it to Gary. James

Holy cow it is a shooter, and it likes to be pushed, what is the neck of the rifle and what are you turning the necks too and one last question how much neck tension with the n133 seemed to work the best for you?
Wayne.

Bozo, These are three shot groups shot at 100 yards. The brass is turned to .0082 and the rifle has a .262 neck. I use a .256 bushing to get quite a bit of neck tension. I normally don't jump bullets, but this rifle likes the Column bullets at .030 off jam. I am going to try some Bart Ultras along with some more Columns tomorrow. Good shooting...James

Thanks James for the updates, your right about one thing it will be tough to give that little Jewell back to your friend. I think it was me that interrupted your phone conversion with Boyd,..sorry about that. If the ultras do better then .084 make sure you post them, I always enjoy a rifle that just plain shoots, to bad I don't own many :D

Do you have the weight of the action ? Is there a drop port version and on which stock has this one been outfitted ?

How is the bolt handle attached to the bolt body? In the pics I've seen, it looks very similar to the RFD bolt. Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks, Joe
