Safariland ceases to exist

In an abrupt and unexpected turn of events Safariland ceased to exist this week. A pair of Bianchi speed strips, laying on top of a dresser for a long time, were found to have broken into bits at the tab area and had a sticky oily film on them. In emails CS made it impossible to get warranty coverage for an obviously defective product. Sadly, that was the end of their existence.

Best alternative for Break Free?

I'm not sure I'm following how speed strips break into bits..... or get any sticky oily goop on them, but.... I am wondering how long they sat on top of a dresser.

Most warranties expire at 90 days. Lifetime warranties are rare these days.. I think that's because product lines change fairly frequently and other products go out of production.

Once a company refunds the buyer's money then they go back to the manufacturer to look to get a refund from them. I'm guessing the hang up exists somewhere in that chain of events.

They may have been there for 2-3 years. The residue is what comes off on your fingers when you touch the remaining part. The rounds that were in them have varying degrees of green discoloration on the brass only as far up as the small area in contact with them. These were for 6 rounds. Here they are. One the tab gone and one the tab plus one round slot gone.

Yup, I had two of them, carried every day. They lasted about a year before they broke up in pieces like yours did. Great idea, carried flat in a pocket but no good if they don't last so I replaced them with speed loaders, 5-shot for J-frame. These days though it's spare mags for a semi-auto.

It’s said that any publicity is good publicity…. But Safariland has not ceased to exist and guessin they would not appreciate such false news about them. Both Safariland and Bianchi have the Bianchi speed strips in stock.
Many retailers carry Breakfree.

All indications suggest this is actual existence

On another note, I found Breakfree to turn to a sticky gummy mess over time. Get some FP10.

It is a given, and apparently recognized by most, this refers to me and not the universe. I will no longer have any need or use for their products. I'm sorry for confusing anyone who couldn't figure that out.

Try and keep it to what you use or not. People here who continue to patronize Safariland were not amused.

You are only one, not THE ONLY ONE Leo.

You may have noticed there are no responses in your favor.
