S&W 41 7 3/8" barrel

I have a s&w model 41 I purchased at a gun show that came with two 7 3/8" barrels. I would like to trade one of the barrels for a 5.5" barrel if anyone might be interested? The one for trade is supposedly unfired and it does indeed look as so, if it has I can't tell. I tried uploading a pic but it's says the file that is uploading is to big. I can send pics via txt or email if interested.

Hey and welcome to the forum. You should post this in the classifieds where more people will see it. Josh

SO, I can't tell if this is a newer version that is factory drilled & tapped for scope mount or the original version. You have something that has become impossible to acquire from S&W so it has some value. Only issue you may have is that someone who has the shorter barrel won't be interested in letting it go, even to get yours. The M41 is a great pistol and I am truly happy to own one (with 5.5 & 7" factory and a Clark STC custom barrel).

There is a 5.5 on Gunbroker now with a buy it now price of $419.95 plus $20 shipping.
Not mine & I don't know the seller. It is shown to be new.
Auction number 579055996

I have both versions. The 7 in is a lot more accurate than my 5.5. Best 22 pistols of the market as far as Im concerned.

My 5.5 and 7 are equally accurate, great pistols. But if I could only have one I'd hang onto the Victor. I prefer the grip angle and the large rear sight.

I picked up both my Smith 41 and High Standard from a buddy, both for $700 total. Quite the deal. The high standard fluted barrel has less than 100 rounds through it. The Smith is early 1970's, the high standard is late 50's .

That barrel looks like a 7”. Don’t see a bump on the muzzle for any attachment.

To be a true 7 3/8" there needs to be a screw under the muzzle to attach the brake.
Your description is that of a 7".
I am using a Clark bbl so have a proven, spare, 5.5" S&W l used for BE back up.

Would be glad to trade - ping me.

When l was actively competing, we Ransom rested our 41s. No diff in accuracy twixt the long or short bbls. OTHER THAN when brake installed, the group blimped up 3/8" @ 50yds. The 5.5 is choice of 90% as sight radius is more forgiving for non 2600 shooters.
Pistol shooting is 68% mental, the rest is in your head. ;)

7” and 80’s-90’s. The 7 3/8” had the removable brake that most removed since it leaded up so badly.
