Back in August I contacted S&S Precision by email about doing some work on a rifle and they replied they would be happy to do the work and it would take 1-2 weeks turn around time. I shipped them the rifle and let them know it was on the way and they replied they would let me know when they received it. They received it September 3rd. Since I hadn't heard I emailed them September 10th to verify they had received it and they replied yes. On September 25th I emailed asking for an update, not so much to pester them but I didn't want to wait another month only to find out it had been shipped long since and was lost in the mail. The answer was "It is on the workbench it is fifth in line to get on the lathe"
That is the last I have heard from them. I emailed several times and called and left messages but no reply I was worried the covid thing may have affected them but a google search turned up the owner, Stick Stark died July 8th. RIP Mr. Stark.
I have had super bad luck with gunsmiths in the past, terrible work, rifles lost and never returned, 1 month turn around taking years, etc. etc. I am beginning to fear the worst right now and I really don't want to loose this rifle. I'm optimistically hoping that things turn around and go well for them and normalcy returns.
Does anybody know the current situation with S&S?
