S.O.S.!.., savage replacement stock help needed

Hi all..man I could use some big time help on this subject.
Back story
Purchased an older savage model 12 , w/top right bolt release / left hand bolt/ set up in single shot configuration in a Choate ultimate sniper stock.
With heavy pac-nor target barrel..its a fat tube but fits good in this ugly stock..

I need a different rifle stock for bench, critter work..it can be a brick lbs is not an issue..the more the better..
Who the hell makes what I need..or who can do the inleting and bedding job and do it right?
It's a 17 fireball I would like convert to DBM..not sure if it's center. Or stager..how can I tell..
Will the PTG bottom metal work with my savage 12...
It can stay a single shot..but if I'm sending it off for surgery might as well soup it up a bit..if it's possible...im not trying to make a silk purse from a sows ears...its a fantastically accurate rifle..worthy of the investment in my opinion..even if it is a savage..its a nice Lefty for me and that's not easy to come by now a days..
Any direction would be much, much appreciated..
Boyd's, and devcon my be my only option from what I can find..
Thank you

Measure the action screw spacing and that of the bottom metal to see if they fit.
Boyds stocks are fine but require a little work and the inlets are sometimes a little off but they are definitely worth the money. You will need to put some time into one.

Find the stock style YOU LIKE. Order up a right hand. "Plug" the right bolt handle cut with bedding/Bondo. Recut it on the left side. Laminated stock colors can be matched at the bolt cut plug with a Sharpie.
Me? Keep it single shot. Remove the ejector rod and spring.
Fired brass stays on the bolt head till YOU pick it off.
No digging in the dirt/grass/weeds for fired brass.
Heavy Pac Nor target barrel???:cool: I LOVE straight pipes.:D

Richards Microfit stocks . Check there clearance section. If not solid walnut in various bench styles start at $250 . This is ONLY if you can handle woodwork. These are NOT like Boyds drop in stocks . These were for our father’s generation that knew basic woodworking and finishing or a gunsmith. They are a great deal , again only if you can do the fitting. Do not expect to buy a $250 stock then pay someone to finish it $100 . These require work .
Okay enough of the warnings . They are good , especially if you can find one in the clearance section.

Kevin made me a very good benchrest stock.

Looks like you have a short action stagger feed. But feed style matters not because you have a SS. I have a few right hand stocks if you are willing to modify PM me and I'll look and see what is here.

Be warned ahead of time about Richard's Micro - Fit stocks. Some look like they were cut with an ax! Others? Doable. ;)
All of my rigs (except my gas guns) are fitted to Richard's Micro-Fit BR style stocks. Think FENCE POSTS!! 15-16-17 pounds. I've lost count but I think I have maybe 6 now ?
+ 2 BR stocks on Ruger 10-22. All set up for bench shooting.
Whatever you do to one of their stocks makes it YOURS!!
Same with ANYTHING you do in this game. What you put into it makes it yours!!

After reading the replies it appears R.M.F, or Boyd
I have looked at the XLR chassis system..pretty hot looking item..any one use them with a savage ?
Appears it will do all I need with just a screwdriver..no sanding, no bedding, no fitting..solid...but makes it look like a space gun...im kind of beyond that game

I'm happy with my XLR Element chassis I just made a couple bag riders for it that I will get anodized sometime.
Maybe I can get a picture up later.

Stockade offers several stocks for Savage rifles. You can get some that are finished and ready to go down to a "Money Saver" that will need a little cosmetic work. IIRC, he's a Savage guy so he can probably help with your choice.

A couple pic's of my XLR Element chassis

Interesting, I want my rifles for prairie dogs heavy, so I actually prefer the Choate

Oh baby!..that nice..what caliber, and how does it feed?..any modification needed..or was it 100% plug and play
Thanks for pics
Right now it is a 6.5x47L .
Feeds great aics mags and very accurate.
Haven't bothered to bed it yet.
I may at some point put a indicator on it and see if I need to.
Like I said I just made the bag riders that just use the existing 10-32 screw holes with standard socket head screws.
Right now it has a single shot mag in it I picked up somewhere I could have just made that to being a machinist.
