S&B PM2 50x

Has anyone looked through or used one of these yet? We locared one for sale and are interested in buying one but very little information is out there. Not even on the S&B websight!
We are interested in hearing feedback about reticle size at 1000yds and overall brightness compared to the March products.

There's a bit on S&Bs German home site at

Have a look at the free online British target shooting magazine:

http://www.targetshooter.co.uk/past%20issues.html

and click on the October issue.

Vince Bottomley who has been reviewing riflescopes for shooting publications for years reviews the 10-50X56 PMII.

His benchmark is the older Nightforce 8-32 BR that is still one of the best scopes optically and compares the review kit against it by looking at a high-voltage National Grid pylon and cables plus associated equipment on a hilltop a couple of miles away. As he says, not scientific, but forget optical resolution charts as even £100 Chinese made target models resolve the smallest line of print nowadays.

Vince reckons the PMII is optically up there with the Nightforce and the Sightron Series III 8-32X56 LR which is the only other model he's tested that matches or betters his benchmark.

I hope you or Vince is joking. I have the Schmidt and Bender 12-50x56 pmII and also a Nightforce 8-32x56 BR. Nightforce isn't in the same league nor should it be given the price difference. The colour rendition, clarity, brightness etc are in an entirely different league. Alot of these guys comparing and talking optics are in their 50s and 60s.Sorry but at that age you just don't have the eyes you used to.It's kinda like a 45 year old guy doing reviews on the "What are the best downhill skiis and the best snowboards?".

I own one of these scopes and am very pleased with it, the problem is you can only afford one when you get into your 40's

I would be more apt to compare it to a 50 yr old man critiqueing a 25 yr old mans wife for performance...

It's a nice scope, albeith one that is highly specialized.

0,025 mrad clicks, 5 turns on the turrets with 3,5 mrad on each turn, parallax adjustment down to 10 meters, reticle fine crosshair with two dots.

It's a target scope, not for the tactical users.

Mine is the double turn 1/4 moa clicks with the sport ret. It does lean more towards target that tactical but tou don't need to use the full 50X. I picked it over th 5-25 as it was cheaper as I don't need the illum ret.
