RX Shooting Glasses

I need some new glasses and would like to get some that sit higher for prone shooting. Don't want to spend a fortune. Looking at The Ranger classic, anyone have a pair? Are they high enough? Any other recommendations?
Thanks
Alex

I have prescription safety glasses made for my shooting activities. My optometrist makes the center of focus where I need them. The price is the same for prescription safety glasses as for regular prescription glasses.

+1 for the Decots. They will make the lenses to your prescription.

The nose piece is adjustable for height. The nice thing is that you have large lenses that will protect your eyes and with a prescription lens on the left eye, you can see the wind flags. A good thing.

The decot looks good. I like the Hi-LO, looks like you can adjust the height. Anyone have these? How do they work?
Is there anything the op. should do different for the rx for scope use?

I have used Decot Hi-Lo prescription glasses with a rose tint for about a year and a half. Most rifle shooters don't understand their benefits especially in the prone position. They help to make targets sharper and help to cut glare. They just look old school on the rifle range, but used often in clay sports.
Besides how often do you get the chance to see the world through rose colored glasses?

Going on the DeCot website, a single vision RX pair with hi-lo bridge run 240$.. I just asked the same kind of questions several days back on the Gear/Optics sub forum. Great feed back from some great shooters.

You might give Bob Jones Glasses a try. You will look like Harry Potter after a bar fight, but they work well, and are inexpensive -also inexpensive to try lenses with different power for trying to bring that front sight in focus...

Glasses are $35 bucks, and lenses are available from Bob Jones or from your local optometrist.

I have a set of Rudy Projects with the snap in RX insert behind the protective lenses. Great glasses. You can also get them where the RX is the regular outer lens. Rudy Project has a plethora of lens colors and frame choices. I picked up the Magster shooting kit. One of the best hobby related purchases I've ever made.

I, too, use the Bob Jones glasses. Including two lenses with two different prescriptions I paid $100. They are bendable so that one can not only center the lens but angle it so that it is square to the line of sight. Had them for several years, been hit by my rear sight several times with no damage to the lenses. Not one scratch.

Decot and Ranger are very similar. Both can be high enough in my opinion. Get someone who makes glass to make them. Ranger can sell the blocks to them.
